Making money from your blog can be very difficult even though you can find a lot of information online. In fact you might even be overwhelmed when you check online. Therefore, you will have to self educate yourself and find what works for you and what doesn’t.

Monetizing blogs may not be easy but it can be rewarding. The first step is always building content. Once you have built a lot of content, you start adding affiliate links, banner ads or even sell your own product or service. So take a look at all of the affiliates available and choose the ones which you prefer the best. Also try network ads like Adsense, Infolinks, etc.

Just never give up and keep working on your blog every day, publish new content, add new products and ads and promote your site every day.

Blogging should be borne out of passion and not because of money. This is because money may not becoming as expected in the beginning. So we need to start by generating more traffic first. Then when we have enough traffic for our website, then we can now be thinking on how to monetize it.

You talk about affiliate ads and network ads for monetizing your blog. If you have a lot of content on your website, you can easily get approved by affiliate ad networks and network ads but this does not you will be able to make a lot of money. In order to make money, you need huge traffic

You need traffic even to earn with network ads. You cannot make good money from your site even if you have 10 percent click through rate because earning per clicks is usually 10-20 cents. But affiliate ads can earn you $5-$10 from single product sale. This is the beauty of affiliate ads

Start with blogspot as practice, it's fun, easy and free but it's not good for SEO. Wordpress blogging works best and great for long term.

That's true. But you need to understand this. If people want to buy something they will go to their favorite stores instead of clicking ads on a random website and buying the product. Well, this can happen but this is not a very common buying behavior. In order to improve affiliate sales, you need to promote affiliate products from popular stores.

This topic seemed to have triggered my motivation for reactivating my blog. However, creating a new blog is much easier than reactivating an old blog. Maybe I have to think of some other options. But with the several monetization platforms that I can use it will be easier to earn and for sure my blog would earn more.

I understand what you are trying to say. But you also need to understand this. People have a wishlist and they buy the products based on their wishlist. However, people also randomly buy products if they find it interesting and useful. It does not matter if the product is listed on their favorite store or not.
