Starting a day-care business, what do I need to set up?

As a teacher by profession, I believe I can set up a day - care for myself one day. But if am going to do that, I don't know how to start and how much it will cost me.

Though, am not so used to children's things and I don't know if I can take care of babies by myself yet. So, if I set it up, will it be possible for me to work there? Or should i say is it compulsory for me to work there as a beginner?

Another question is that what can I do to attract people in order to bring their children to my establishment? What do I need to do differently for me to get a good result? Will I need any type of registration or documentation before I start it?

What are the challenges I should be expecting in the business so it won't catch me as a surprise? Will this work fetch me enough money?

Please, drop your response below if you have any idea or knowledge to share. Thanks.

In my own seeing and experiences, I don't normally see day care around often, maybe it's because its somehow hard to cater for babies or cos not so many people likes to take care of children.

However, I believe this is going to be a nice business that needs enough cash to set up. Because firstly, you may need a nice building with neat apartment with water system working properly, etc....

And you may need to employ 2 to 3 staffs to start from. And you may need to do pamphlet or placard for advertisement, to create awareness. Etc...

Your staff will determine how far your day cade business will go. You don't really need a worker but you need mothers. I mean you need people that have passion for children and can tolerate the shenaniganisms of children. Then you need a play ground where children can play and have fun. You need to make sure there are cleaners to clear their mess from time to time.

Your question is simple. I think you know yourself better than I do so if you have the hobby or interest of taking care of babies the I think you can do it more better because you have the passion. Never think of how to get start but rather think of where you will keep them. Do you have a good place? If only you can take good care of them then people will bring their babies to you.

Day care business is a nice business and lucrative too but you need to have a little money because it is money demanding. You need to set up the place to accommodate babies and toddlers. Then you need efficient hands that would look after the kids. It is fun and tedious at the same time

the business is a lucrative business but before you must venture into that you need to learn some necessary things required and also have the right resources to put in place. first of all you must learn the characteristics of children which is very important for you to handle them. You must also learn to take care of children because that is probably very important for you to run a daycare business successfully. You must also have cash at hand which is necessary the order to put the right facilities in place.

Yes. You are very right about the day care service business not being a common business around due to the complexity of handling children. People may not want to give out there babies out to just any body. More so, I take the job as a spiritual job too. The money aspect of it is also very correct in order to bring things to shape.

Your point is very correct. You just nailed it. Children can really mess things up and they do things often. If you can't control them by having more than one staff will be very difficult. Then the facilities of taking care of the babies must be complete and well taken care of. Those morhers that will be employed must be well Experienced to do the job right. And that mean they must be well paid in order to do what is required of them.

My sister, I don't really think I can do it alone without the help of some well experienced people, I mean those that have had their own kids before and can take care of kids and can even understand the babies languages and actions. I haven't had my own children yet so I don't really know if I can manage their stress. You also mentioned space, I don't have a space yet because I haven't been able to put things together yet or gather more information about the business yet.

For a day care center you first concentrate on the requirements. A day care is not a school. It is a place where parents bring their children more for the care and not for the education. You need a dietitian and a consultant for child psychology. You also need proctors to take care of the children. There is a ratio of proctors like 1 proctor for every 4 kids. That is not a good business.
