Complaints of diseases related to the digestive system are very common in both children and adults. Bacterial infections are the most common causes that enter the body through food and water due to lack of cleanliness . For the cleanliness of public places, the safe disposal of human and animal faeces and urine is of utmost importance to avoid diseases related to the digestive system. Digestive system diseases increase due to most people going out, eating outside food and uncleanliness. We can avoid these diseases by taking cleanliness, clean food and clean water.

Intestinal contamination from borewells has reduced significantly because the underground water is generally clear, transparent, sterile and safe. Acidity is a common complaint among people. This is mainly due to eating too much hot chili and spices, taking medicines, working continuously throughout the day by drinking paan, sachets and tea on an empty stomach, excessive stress and drinking alcohol.

We now know that gastric ulcer (peptic ulcer) is caused by infection with the bacteria H. pylori. Daily bowel movements and emptying of the stomach are essential for good health. Partial constipation is also believed to be the root of many diseases. In Ayurveda, it is believed that many diseases in humans are due to disturbances in the digestive system. Several procedures are adopted in Ayurveda for purification such as vomiting. In yoga also there are many methods for purification of upper and lower abdomen. Doctors often forget this aspect of health while treating ailments of the digestive system.
