When you're traveling, you're probably just trying to make it from one place to another as quickly and efficiently as possible without getting lost in the process.

I got 3 tips for making your airport experience more enjoyable, and more affordable, so you can keep spending your money on things like food and souvenirs rather than on things like parking tickets.

1. Pack a reusable water bottle and fill it up at the airport's water stations (no need to buy bottled water). You can also buy individual bottles of water at most airports that are easier to carry through security checkpoints than an empty container.

2. Bring some Munchies with you! Airports don't have much of an appetite-inducing selection, but there are usually a few kiosks where snacks are available, especially in airports where there are multiple terminals.

3. Avoid the long lines by checking in online ahead of time that will allow you to skip the line altogether by scanning your ticket stub or boarding pass when you arrive at the airport (if using this service be sure that it works for all airlines).

When you're traveling, it's tempting to spend money on things like expensive hotels and fancy restaurants. But sometimes the best way to save money on travel is by using hacks that are totally free. Here are five top airport hacks to help you save some green while you travel:

1. Use a suitcase that fits under the seat in front of you. This will prevent you from having to pay for an extra seat, which can be costly!

2. Bring your own food and drink onto the plane—you can buy food and drinks at the airport itself, but they're expensive! Bring some snacks in your carry-on bag and eat them with friends before boarding (or just bring some fruit).

3. Bring a reusable water bottle and fill it up at any water fountain on the plane—there are tons of these available.

4. If there's a charging port available, use it! Most people don't realize this, but airports have free charging ports for smartphones and laptops that aren't being used for anything else. Use them! You won't regret it.

5. Find out what kind of discounts airlines offer when booking online or through an app like Google Flights or Priceline.
