In job hunting the most important is the resume. My take on a good resume is a short one like 3 to 5 pages of word document, should be considered but descriptive. Do not include the references because usually an HR officer is after the work experience and not the names of people that you will include there.

Yeah the resume is also an important area when it comes to job hunting successfully. A lot of recruiters sees the resume before even seeing the holder. What will even make the holder to be seen is the resume. So it should be prepared in an enticing way to get noticed for a call
