Between the buyer and seller, who should bear shipping cost?

The online space has narrowed the physical distances existing between two people and organizations who are far apart. People can sit down at the comfort of their houses. This business model has created a new job called "dispatcher". A dispatcher takes the good from the seller and finds a way to deliver it to the buyer. As good as that is, there is always a problem. The problem is the person that pays for the delivery of the product. Some people argue that the customer has no business paying for delivery. Other people say that a serious buyer won't have problems paying for his/ her delivery.

I think the cost of delivery should be split between the buyer and the seller. It should be 50-50. Customers should see it as the likely transport they would have paid if they we're to go out by themselves, to the shop and buy those things.
