CashApp integrated a bitcoin Lightning Network on its platform

According to user reports, mobile payment operator Cash App has incorporated a layer-2 payment protocol Lightning Network to allow customers transact using bitcoin.

According to screenshots, the Lightning Network function may be used as "the fastest, free way to pay anyone in bitcoin," and it was rolled out to a small number of people.

It was unclear at the time of publication how users were chosen or how many had acquired the new feature.

Cash App did not respond to Blockworks' request for an instant reply. However, Jack Dorsey, the co-founder and CEO of Block, the company that created Cash App, has been acknowledging and like tweets from Cash App customers who have posted photos of their Lightning Network transactions on the app to Twitter.
