Public health and nursing are related fields in the health sector. People often mistake public health nurse to be the same as hospital nurses. A public health nurse is more concerned with the larger population which could be a community or district. A hospital nurse is primarily concerned with a particular patient at a time.

Public health nurses are more concerned with prevention of diseases. They organize campaigns to educate the public on health issues and how to prevent them. On the other hand, hospital nurses are primarily concerned with treatment of diseases. Hospital nurses work to make a sick patient get better whereas public health nurses work to stop the disease from happening at all.

The two health careers are complimentary and work hand in hand. To qualify to be a public health nurse or hospital nurse, you must have a degree in Nursing Science. And you must posses all the skilkz needed to be a nurse.
