In my friend's line of work, he's required to work for his boss whenever he wants him to. The company policy states that they are always on call, so he's expected to be available at any time during his off period.
This can be very stressful and difficult because sometimes he needs to take care of personal things during the off period such as school work or family obligations. In addition, when he's working for his boss, he's not able to complete any additional tasks such as completing reports or finishing up any other work that needs to be done in order for him to get paid.
I think this is unfair because if he's not getting paid then why should he have to do it? I know so many are experiencing this at their various places of work. How do you cope with this? Do you decline by letting him/her know how bad you are feeling about his actions or you just ignore and move on like nothing is wrong?
