Hemoglobin A1c test for diabetes is simple bloa simplet that measures the average blood sugar levels over the past three months.

This is one of the commonly used test, diagnose prediabetes and the diabetes. Though the routine test on an empty stomach and the test after having the food is routinely conducted, this a main test to help you and your health care team to monitor and manage your diabetes because of the history of last three months.

No special preparations or special care is required to conduct this test! We need not be on an empty stomach (that means one can eat and drink normally) and the blood may either be collected from the vein or from the finger tip.

Now, what must be the target value of the Report? As per the American Diabetic Association the doctors recommend a Hb A1c value below 7% for adults testing for diabetes. This regularly translated to a blood sugar of 154mg/dl of blood after the calculations.

The only problem with this test is that sometimes this may give false results or false positive report of the diabetes in the individuals with no history of diabetes.
