How division of labour improves business productivity?

The division of labor refers to the segmentation of tasks, with each person focusing on a specific part of the production process. Originally coined in 1776 by Adam Smith in his book ‘A Wealth of Nations’, he famously used a pin factory as an example. In it, he noted how there were many complex stages to the process. First of all, someone has to draw the wire out, then straighten it, and then cut it. They then need to point it, and then grind the top of the head. In what is a relatively complex set of tasks, Smith highlighted the benefits of specialisation. This idea stems from the fact that each person needs to invest a set amount of time to become highly proficient in their role.
Major Advantages of Division of Labour:

1. Increase in Productivity:
The greatest advantage of division of labour is that it increases immensely the productivity per worker. This point can be illustrated by the famous example of pin making given by Adam Smith. The process of pin making is divided into 18 distinct operations.
2. The Right Man in the Right Place:
Another great advantage is that the work under division of labour is allotted according to the ability and capacity of the individual worker. This ensures a high degree of efficiency as the right man is put in the right job. Thus, it eliminates the possibility of fitting a square peg in a round hole.
3. Dexterity and Skill:
The worker becomes highly skilled and acquires high degree of dexterity because of the repeated performance of the same operation. As the age-old dictum goes, practice makes a man perfect. The worker acquires perfection in his skill because he has to carry out the same operation over and over again. This adds to his productivity.
4. Inventions are facilitated:
Another significant advantage is that it promotes the development of new ideas and better techniques of doing the work. It is due to the fact that when a worker is performing the same operation over and over again, he can think of doing that process in a better and improved manner. Even some mechanical device may occur to him to do that task easily and more efficiently. Thus, division of labour results in inventions of new machinery and better tools.
5. Saving in Time:
Under division of labour, a worker performs a part of the whole process and therefore he needs to learn only that much. Long periods of training are, therefore, rendered unnecessary. This saves great time and money. Further as the worker remains employed on the same process, he does not waste his time in moving from one process to another. He, therefore, goes on working without loss of time. This further result in saving in time.
7. Use of Machinery Encouraged:
By breaking up the production of a commodity into small and simple operations, division of labour encourages the use of machinery and its introduction. These simple operations easily can be carried out by suitable machines.
Machines can be economically used only when they are fully used, that is, when their productive capacity is fully utilised. Division of labour involves production on a large scale and therefore permits the economical use of machinery.

Division of labour remains the most efficient way of accomplishing a task. We can see this in the following ways:

Time consumed.
The rate at which one serious person carries out a task is different from the rate at which two or more serious persons do.

Efficiency: when different persons who are professionals in a particular skill perform their tasks, there will be much efficiency compared when a single person does the work of a civil engineer, electrical, engineer, mechanical engineer etc

Low stress:
When so many persons are involved involved in a task, people are not easily tired out because it involves a collective effort. But in a situation when one person is handling a huge task then such person gets stressed up.

Division of labour is one of the most effective way to increase productivity. In an organization where everyone has their own duties and responsibilities, it makes it alot easier to manage the company and also makes work faster cause everyone has their own duties and responsibilities, but in a situation where one person is in charge of more than one responsibility they might get worn out, hence reduce productivity. Hence productivity reduced the work load of the workers in the company as well.

Division of labour is very useful and helpful to the company in the sense that :
It will save the time of the workers on a particular job because the work that one person will be doing with stress will now be doing with ease.
It will increase the production if the company because there will be more turn over.
Division labour also increase the knowledge of the workers in that certain job hr is doing often.
It will also lead to increment of sales of goods or product.
This are the benefit that the company will derive from using division of labour method in there operation.

It depends on workers, some workers could divide work perfectly, however, some others finds it difficult to handle such cases whit other coders especially if it is web development.

Well, I believe that division of employees might work in many places. However, I am not sure how it would work in a few places where some workers are dependent upon other workers to get the job done? For example, a machine operator would rely on a technician in the company if the machine breaks down. If the technician gets lazy, then this will definitely affect the productivity of the company in a bad manner. This is why we have managers that could deal with such kind of situations and senior managers who could handle lazy managers. So, the division of workers is a good thing, but it highly depends on how efficient your employees are overall.

I think this is why many businesses have special employee meetings and seminars where they address the performance of employees and resolve their issues related to their jobs. This is a good thing. I remember applying at a company where they had a separate section for employee training and I guess most of the big business organizations have such facilities for employees. I also believe that manager should discuss problems related to performance with their workers in a polite manner and provide solutions to their problems. This is the only way how the channel of workers would work properly.

The act of division of labour has so many impact in business process and activities division of labour law refers to the splitting of production activities among workers and employees so as to fasten the workout process. the use of division of labour is not only to fast in the work process but also to know the potential of each worker's. It all shows help the need of correction for example if a worker at any state make a mistake performing his or her duty it provides room for correction so that the worker all the stuff can perform his or her duty perfectly well next time.

Division of labour leads to the production of more profit and business goals and objective accomplishment. Which is the number one division of a company or a business organisation. As a result of division of labour the act of specialisation is actually established division and specialisation goes hand-in-hand because when work are being divided there is easy ways in which the employer all day manager can inspect his workers or staffs. Finally with the help of division of labour time in accomplishing a given tax is being reduced division of level doesn't mean that you have to employ a lot of workers so as to accomplish little tax of course that will lead to diminishing marginal productivity

For labour to be effective and easy going with less confusion, there have to be division of labour. In an organization where there are different obligations workers are to be given their different assignment to work to go smoothly and for mistakes to be avoided.

Even in our everyday life, in our houses, if we have children or younger ones living with us and we know how much work we need to do we assign different people to perform different task and before you know it the work is finished.

Like in a company or business setting there's a CEO, who is the bot always the owner of the company but the one in charge, the one assigned as the president. So as the president he can't perform all the duties of the company, he has to assign people under him at different stages to take different positions and perform different tasks. Now after the CEO, you have the directors then I think the manager is next, before the employees. Each of these positions they have their various roles they must play for things to go smoothly in the organization. The security staffs have their roles as well as the receptionist if there's one.
