Succeeding with a career isn't easy that's why one needs to apply conscious efforts to get it right. The thing is that everything in life needs a level of efforts to make a success, nothing just happened and as such one that want to succeed must learn all that it takes to make it work.

There are always a lot of people in a career path so you need to train and grow yourself to be outstanding when it comes to the career. Efficiency as you have stated is key. if you want your career to be easy for you then you need to apply a good level of efficiency so that you would get to your optimum level
To get the efficiency you would need to do the following:

Be consistent with your tasks: The thing is that whatever you do daily as time goes on, you would good at it and of course this will bring a good level of efficiency

Update your knowledge: You can't remain with the knowledge gained 4 or 5 years back and expect to be great in your career. You would need to take up new trainings, attend seminars or write books to help you learn new things.

I am very sure that the goal of everybody is to be successful in their career. Everybody is liable to be successful but not everybody will do what it takes to become successful. Some will not those steps to success because they don't have the will while others won't do it because they don't have the zeal since the steps are too hard.

Doing more research on our field of work is the first thing to do. We need to make sure we are not caught unfresh. We need to be updating ourselves on any field we may find ourselves.

Also we need to make the right mentors. There are many successful people out there that we can be used as our role models. When we are in the dark in our career, we can call on them for some tips. We should not be acting as if we know it all, there will be times that we will need some advice from other people.

Ad well, we need to make sure that we need to learn how to endure the situation that we find ourselves. Most time we may not get what we need at the time we expect but being patient will surely get it for us.

Even though you need to be goal oriented and efficient in order to become successful in your career, the most important thing to consider is your skills and expertise. If you are highly skills and if you are the best at what you do, you have high chances of getting hired, when you re hired, when you do not have dearth of assignments at your hand, you will become successful in your career. Formal education is very important to become successful in your career. Let's say you want to build a career in writing and you are also very good at writing, would you be hired by a high paying company if you are not at lest graduate, or let's say would you be hired by big brands if you do not have formal education and a degree in language and literature. Big brands and companies do not trust you if you do not have a degree in relevant field. If you are an MBA and if you apply as a marketer, you have high chance of being hired compared to when you are experienced marketer but no formal degree. Just like education, training in relevant field is also very important.

1) Ensure you ask questions when things don't make sense. It's okay if your boss doesn't know what they're doing they're not perfect! And it's also okay if they don't know everything about their job they probably haven't done this one before either! Asking questions will help both of them understand what's going on and will allow everyone involved to feel more confident moving forward.

2) Don't stop learning. There are always new things happening in business, so it's important that we stay on top of them as much as possible so we can make sure we're providing our best work at all times.

3) Always do your best work even if no one is watching (or even if they are). You will have the reward someday.
