Salesmen change jobs the most, because their skills are transferrable, if you're a sales man selling cars it's easier for you to jump into selling wrist watches because you already have the requisite knowledge of selling, most of what you'll learn will hover around domain expertise and some industry lingo.
Changing an industry might be due for personal reasons, it might be because you don't have passion anymore in the current industry or you sales have dried up, depending on what you're current ly facing, you can make the transition by testing the waters, get an internship and see if it's something you want to do before quitting.
