The key to build a great marketing plan and generate tons of sales is to do market segmentation. Market segmentation is basically customer segmentation. By doing customer segmentation you will discover who your customers and where they are located, among many other things.

One of the key areas for customer segmentation is demographic segmentation, which is based on the demographic traits. Here are the key pointers in demographic segmentation.

Age: define the age range for your customers

Gender: define the gender for your customers

Finance: Define the financial position of your customer (lower class, middle calls, lower middle class, upper class, etc.)

Social status: Define socio-economic position of your customers.

Education: Define education level of your customer (High school, college, university, etc.)

Family: Define the family size and the status

Before you promote your business and products to your potential customers for brand awareness and sales, you will have to know who exactly is your customer.
