Depression is no laughing matter. It is a common mental health disorder that can affect anyone. Even if you are depressed, you cannot simply quit your 9 to 5 job. However, there will be times when you will miss deadlines, have difficulty focusing on the task at hand, and many other things. If these symptoms continue, here are some suggestions for dealing with depression at work.

Ask for help: Depression does not go away overnight. So, seek assistance. Most likely, your company provides a benefit that assists employees with mental health issues. If you are hesitant to ask for help and support from your employer, consider seeking guidance from a third party. Look for a reputable therapist to see in your spare time.
Recognize: Recognize that you suffer from depression. Determine which factors contribute to your depression and make an effort to address them. Is the trigger personal in nature? Is it related to work? Or other things?

Take some time off: Make work-life balance a priority. Burnout will occur if you do not take a break. It is great that you have something to be excited about. It will aid in the reduction of stress, anxiety, and depression.

Consider pausing for a little. Step outside to breathe some fresh air.
