How to know your salary is worth your stress

When you're on the hunt for a new job, one of the most important factors in your decision is how much it will pay. But what does that number really mean? Is it worth the stress of a long commute, or being away from family for long stretches of time? The answer is complicated, but we can help you figure it out. Here's how to know if your salary is worth your stress:

-First off, make sure you have a good idea of what the average salary for your position is. You can use sites like Glassdoor or LinkedIn to find out what people in similar roles are making in different cities and industries. If there are similar jobs at other companies within your industry, this will help you get an idea of whether or not you're getting paid fairly compared to others doing similar work.

-Next up: consider how stressful your current job is compared to other ones you've had before. Do you find yourself constantly stressed out? Do people around you seem legitimately miserable at work? These things aren't always easy to measure, but if they sound familiar, take note. They might be signs that there's something wrong.

Sometimes, it can be hard to know whether your salary is worth the stress that comes with your job. If you're not sure what to look for in a job, here are some things to consider:
* Your salary should be sufficient to cover your living expenses, debt payments, and savings goals.

* You should feel like you're making enough money that it feels good to go home at night. The amount of money you make should feel like a reward for doing good work and not an obligation that takes away from the things you care about.

* You should be able to see a clear path forward with your career at this job, that means they'll help you grow and develop in ways that are meaningful to you and will help you achieve your goals.

* It's important that your boss has similar values as yours, they should respect the work/life balance and treat their employees like people rather than machines.
However, when your salary is not worth it, whatsoever job you find yourself, I strongly believe you will know. When you overwork yourself and you have little to take care of yourself or relation at the end of the day, it's a sign.
