You can profit from your marketing campaign only when your product reaches the target audience. How do you ensure that your product reaches the people who will actually buy your product?
The answer is simple, identify the audience according to the location.
How do you know about the location of your audience?
Just like United Nations has categorized countries based on their economy or gross domestic product, marketing agencies, advertising companies, and advertising networks also categorize countries into 5 different groups. While countries like the US, the UK, Canada, Australia fall in the first category, popularly called Tier 1, and countries like Afghanistan, North Korea fall in Tier 5.
Before you launch your marketing campaign, you will have to check where your buyers are actually based on. You will have to build an advertising campaign accordingly. Interestingly, the advertising rate also differs according to the country, you will have to pay more for higher tier countries. For instance, you will have to pay more when you are targeting customers in the US (Tier 1) compared to the customers in India (tier 4 country).
If you are trying to sell your products to Americans, there is no point in targeting the people in Africa, even though advertising cost is less.
