Impulsive buying means you are not planning to buy this product, in fact, you even don’t need this product, yet you see this product on the stack of supermarkets and you end up buying this product. For a lot of people, impulsive buying is one of the primary causes of high expenses.

In order to save more, you need to control your expenses, in other words, you need to curb impulsive buying. So, how do you do this?

Do not use a credit card: If you use a credit card, you tend to overspend, you will be buying things as long as you have not reached the card limit.

Do not carry cash: If you carry cash, you will also end up buying things that you actually don’t need.

I do most of my purchases and other transactions using my credit card. I find it easier to keep a track of my expenses. And also, using a credit card makes me earn credit points here, and that I can redeem later. I have got some good stuff and at times free air tickets redeemed from my credit point.
I plan a budget and try to stick to it. I will make a list of things that I really need and would use. I only buy them and do not go impulsive shopping. I would admit that it is tough to resist the temptation of impulsive buying. I have done that earlier and regretted it later.

I don't understand, buyer should not use credit card or even cash, then should they ask value in bitcoin?
To prevent impulsive buying, people need to make a list before buying. And now we are doing most purchase online, so we ask only for what we need. Online shopping is good idea.

Impulsive buying is an issue between you and your urge to buy. I consider it a vice when you lose control in a shopping spree. My wife has that bad habit that I reprimand her often to ask me before buying. Last week she bought 4 packs of 1.5 pounds of dates for me. I love dates but not that many. That is one actual example of impulse buying. It is self-control that can beat impulse buying.

I think what you need to solve the problem if impulsive buying is having some discipline. It is within us to control what we buy, whether we need it or not. I like to think that I personally have a discipline. I have to think a lot before I make a purchase on something.

Here I am talking about impulsive buying, I am not trying to tell you not to spend money. What I am trying to say is stop impulsive buying. You need to first understand what exactly is impulsive buying. Impulsive buying means buying items that you don't actually need or may not need at all but you buy it just because you like it.

Impulsive spending is truly one of the biggest causes of financial problems among many people. It can even cause you to be taking unnecessary loans constantly without a plan on how to pay it back. I think what you need most to curb this is self control. You beed to learn to say no to your desires.

I would like to commend you for your approach on the said topic and how you have brought to our knowledge the hazards of impulsive buying and how IG can lead to unexpected situation of bankruptcy. Your points are well aligned and those are still having the urge to always but impulsively should pay close attention the this article.

My number 1 tip is to not go shopping when you are hungry. It may sound funny but it helps you to think that you already have everything you need and prevents you from overspending.

Moreover, overspending is not just going out of budget. It's also found in buying items you only need twice or thrice in a long time. Imagine if you had rented that item instead? It would save you money.

Following on that, renting on big corporations isn't necessarily what you would consider affordable. I say, rent from your neighbors. Look for a site like My Garage Rentals that allows you to rent from your neighbors for just a fraction of an item's original price. You yourself may also list on there for free you can make money yourself too. My Garage Rentals is available across the globe so there shouldn't be any problem.

I am a spendthrift, I know that for sure. The two strategies you enumerated were ways I used to curb my expenses, but end up being called a stinge fellow by friends. Unknown to them that I was trying to save my future.

Another strategy I use, is to draw up plans for my salary. As the alert is entering, I will instantly send each money to where it has been designated. Funny enough, the reminder finishes within three days without trace.

I have been in the similar situation for sometimes and I understand how I always handle it .personally if I am going out to a shopping centre to buy a particular thing I only focus on what I am really going there to go and buy I don't even look for any other thing or give an opportunity to be attracted to any other product.

To save yourself from impulsive buying, you have to first decide fully within you.
Here are some tips that can help you save more money:

1. Go out less often: going out for lunch or dinner takes a big chunk of your money. Instead, prepare your meal at home and go out very occasionally.

2. Do not get carried away by buying everything on sale. You don't need all those things that are on sale in order to break your fast. The key is to buy what you really need instead of what is on sale at a cheaper price. A good way to know if you really need something or not is to ask yourself, do I really need this? If yes then buy it, if not then leave it, it will only add up more expenses in your shopping cart.

3. Plan a budget for the entire month and stick to it! Make sure you don't go over budget because that will only add up more expenses and will make it harder for you to save money!

4. Keep track of your expenses throughout the entire month so that you can see how much you are able to save.

Shopping can be addictive and impulsive buying has become a sort of sickness. I have known many people around me in my relatives and closed circle of friends who are addicted to impulsive buying. They earn well enough but fail to save despite their good earnings. They are always in some sort of financial crisis when it comes to emergency situation and in most of the cases, their impulsive buying is to be blamed.
I read an article that sometimes people tend to go for window shopping and impulsive buying when they undergo some sort of emotional crisis and depression. Also, there are cases where the sales and discount offers tempt people and they end up going for buying stuff that they might not even need actually. Marketing people take full advantage of this. These discount offers tempt and people end up spending more on buying than the actual saving that they would make out of them.
A good financial budgeting is important. And you should be very clear about your financial priorities. One has to be very strict about emergency saving bucket. Like any good habit, a strict financial planning and budgeting and sticking to it requires lot of self control and discipline. The earlier you develop it, the better it is for a good financial future. Try to control your urge to buy everything that tempts you. Think few times..whether it's the nerd or just a want. Do you need it now? Is it the financial priority now?
A little bit of logical reasoning and self-control will help you to get over the urge for impulsive buying.

I've been trying to slow down on impulse buying lately. My husband and I are spending a ton of money on bills each month but I'm always buying things for my kids, as if they don't have a million toys already.

Impulsive buying refers to buying things in an excessive way. It is a kind of disorder which is categorised under impulse control disorder. Impulse buying basically refers to urges to spend excessive money on unnecessary things. The fact of the matter is that impulse buying could be hard to treat because it is just like an addiction and it is also called shopping addiction where the sufferer basically finds relaxation when he or she spends money on unnecessary things.

The fact remains that impulse buying could hinder the process of saving money and it could lead to serious financial debts. In many extreme cases, a shopping addict might need to consult a specialist in this field in order to get rid of this disorder. So if you are a person who is suffering from this disorder and cannot get rid of this problem, then you may need to consult a psychiatrist and there is nothing wrong with that. I think that you can also take some basic steps to overcome this problem. For example, you can utilise your willpower and motivate yourself in order to save money. You may just need to think how better your life would be without this problem.
