A blog post should be able to retain visitors. Visitor retention means a lower bounce rate, more engagement on your posts, and better revenue. This will happen only when you write a good blog post.

The blog post should have four elements:

Title: Use simple and straightforward sentences. Always write in an active voice. Make sure the title uses search terms, keywords, and key phrases.

Introduction: The introduction should tell what the article is about. You should also share supporting evidence in the introduction, where applicable, all the while keeping it brief.

Body: Divide the body into small sections and each section should explain key concepts. Give subtitles to each section. Where applicable, add bullet points.

Conclusion: Provide the takeaway or the key concepts of the article. Share a link to additional content for further reading.

The most important thing to remember for visitor retention is to write a great body. People will stay on your post only when the content body offers something worth reading. You can trick people to click your title, read the introduction, but you cannot trick them to stay on your article if your body is not well written.

Agreed, you will be able to pull an audience if you have a great title and introduction, however, you can make your visitors stay on the site only when your content body is great and it provides everything the visitor is looking for. IF the content body is not good, there is no way we can retain rthe visitors.

It is very important to research about the topic you want to post on your blog. A blogger should avoid join the bandwagon and post the same thing as everyone else. The need to stand out by posting unique content that explain a certain subjects very well like no one else. a content like this will receive lots of backlinks and rank higher on Google search engine. This is what I always tell anyone doing blogging.

The content body should be informative as well as readable. The content should also also be engaging. If you do not write engaging content, you cannot retain your visitors. You need to divide your content into small sections, use sub headings, bullet points, infographics and format your content well for visitors retention.

There are a number of ways to retain your visitors, for example, you can do internal linking. If you link your other post, visitors might be interested in checking that post as well. You can also use infographics. Infographics are visual content that a lot of people find interesting. Embedded content can also help.
