Is mining still profitable

It's seems like mining is not as it's use to be, is mining still profitable? If no give your reason for not being profitable.

Actually, one of the biggest reasons why mining is no longer worth is because the mining difficulty of almost all the Coins have increased so much that it would take you thousands of dollars to buy a hardware in order to mine something worthy. This was not the case in the past when Bitcoin was launched in the year 2009. At that time, there were many people who mined coins and they became rich due to extremely low levels of mining difficulty. Nowadays you would require a costly hardware and then you will earn some coins, but you will be required to recover the investment cost initially before start making gains from mining activities.
