Well, the answer is No. Social media marketing and influencer marketing are entirely different things, however, a lot of people confuse social media marketing with influencer marketing because you do both of these marketings on social media platforms.

Influencer marketing is a marketing method where you work with social media users having significant followers on social media in order to promote products or services. Influencer marketing also involves building your followers and working with brands and businesses and making money by promoting services and products.

Since influencer marketing is also done on social media, it can also be a kind of social media marketing, however, social media marketing refers to various kinds of marketing done on social media, whereas influencer marketing refers to specific marketing involving social media influencers.

Influencer marketing tries to leverage relationships with specific businesses, brands and individuals and connects their products and services directly with social media users.

Social media marketing is a rather broader term that includes a variety of strategies.
