Unemployment can be describe or defined as a situation where a person is available, willing and able to work but unable to find a job in any sector.

The rate of unemployment is the percentage of the total labour force that is unemployed.

Underemployment in the other hand can be defined as a situation in which labour is not fully engaged or where there is low productivity of employment or where an employee is given a job that is below his ability and capacity.

Both unemployment and underemployment exist in different countries and have become very serious problems indeed.
Together, they are an unwholesome characteristic of an under developed economy.

DEPENDENCY ON AGRICULTURE
Agriculture is the primary sector of the economy. The ratio of the contribution of agriculture to the total level of output is significantly higher in developed countries.
Developing countries bare primary agrarian.
Most of the people in such countries cultivate the land on small plots, using traditional methods that are inefficient.

RAPID POPULATION GROWTH
Birth-rates are very high in developing countries, and the fear is that population growth nay offset or distort plans for economic development. Any progress recorded in the economic area may only allow a greater number of people to survive.

LOW LEVWL OD TECHNOLOGY
The term " technology" refers to the use of scientific knowledge to produce the material necessities of society.

The large increase in the productivity of workers that has taken place in developed industrial societies is due mainly to improved methods of prosuction.
In developing countries, however, there is a lower level of technology.

POVERTY AND LOW INCOME PER CAPITAL
These are characteristic of developing countries. They make savng difficult and thus hinder capital accumulation, which is vital for economic development.

POOR INFRASTRUCTURAL FACILITIES
Infrastructural facilities include access road, railways, communications network, and electricity and water supplies.
These have been inadequately provided in developing countries.

This are what use to happen when there is unemployment and when a country is underdeveloped.

What different can you point to between the unemployment and underdevelopment?

Of course there is clear difference between unemployment and underemployment. Unemployment is when you are not employed by anyone or company. You maybe categorized as a freelancer. While underemployment is when you are being employed by someone but you are being paid a stipend or very low amount of money which is not right.

Yes, there is a clear cut difference between unemployment and underemployment. Both these things are observed in our country and people often mistake the two things. If we are qualified and despite that we are not getting any employment or job then we called such situation as the unemployment. Here there are shortage of the jobs and abundance of qualified staff. In underemployment people are getting the employment or the jobs which are under fit for the skills or talents they have. Here the the person doing the job is much higher qualifications for the job he is doing.

The two terms may go hand in hand in failed countries. There is always unemployment and underemployment cases in a nation that has failed. While unemployment exists when able and willing people don't have any labour to embark on, underemployment happens when people are not rearward adequately for they are doing or there is no exact job for a specific qualification. For instance, a graduate engaging in commercial driving.

There is a serious difference between unemployment and underemployment both of them are all different methods,under-employment is a situation in which people are not up to the legal age that is necessary to be employed , unemployment generally is the art of not being employed.both can affect the progress of a country.

Apparently, they are very different.....If you're talking about unemployment, you are saying there is no job for the people to do in a state or a country. However, if you are talking about underemployement, you are talking about jobs that are not enough in a country. Underemployement, there are jobs for people to do but the jobs are not circulating for the masses. So the difference are clear!

Unemployment is when there is no work for one to do due to job scarcity which our government really created because of their selfish interest and lackadaisical attitude.Underemployment is still fairly good because there is little money been paid by the owner of the job though the money might be really small because of the situation of the country.

What I understand in unemployment is the lack of available jobs for the workers. Underemployment is having a job but not full time. There are also high skilled workers who are working as lowly laborers. That is what I call underemployment because they can do a higher job but not available so the work a job on the lower level.

There's actually a marked difference between somebody who is unemployed and somebody who is underemployed. If you are underemployed it means that you have a job but the job is not paying well or you are not working under good conditions but if you are unemployed it means you do not have any paying job at all.
