In a recent post, I discussed the different factors that go into deciding whether you should use Kindle direct publishing (KDP) or Fulfilment By Amazon (FBA) for your book. In this article, I'll discuss the pros and cons of each option.

KDP vs FBA: Which is better?

The reality is that there are advantages to both options. In most cases, the pros of each outweigh the cons. But sometimes, you might find yourself having to choose one over the other because of a specific situation or because it's just not a good fit for your book.

But first, let's take a look at what each option offers.

For KDP:

- Traffic: With KDP, you can reach millions of customers directly through Amazon's ads platform. This means that you don't have to pay for any advertising costs or worry about how much money your book is making on its own before you've sold anything.

- Free promotion: When you publish through KDP Select, Amazon will promote your book to its top reviewers (who are highly trusted by readers) for free! This means that even if no one actually buys your book through this method, it's still worth it because you'll get lots of reviews from readers.

FBA (Fulfillment By Amazon) is an Amazon service that provides the infrastructure necessary to store, ship and sell your digital products once they've been uploaded to their site. It also lets you choose what price point your books will be available at, which can help you decide if the price point you set is too high or too low.
