The lottery ticket is a popular commodity because the motivation is in winning the jackpot. Most of the lottery ticket outlets here are in a very small space to save on rent. As long as the machine can fit with the teller in the booth then that is fine. My friend who has a Lotto outlet in front of her home said that the income is not really high but it is still profitable in the sense that the income (commission from the ticket sales) can cover the overhead including the salary of the teller. What’s left every month for her is something like $500. To think that she is not doing anything except to check the booth once in a while then I guess that is a good business.
