A lot of people believe that off page SEO is only related to link building, what they don't know is building links on any random sites does not help you need to build links only on the site that is relevant to you niche and only the sites that are better than yours. For example, it does not help if you build link from a gaming site to your travel blog, it also does not help if you build backlink from a site that has 10 Domain authority when your site had 40 Domain Authority. It hurts if the backlinks are coming from spam sites.

While backlinks play a great role in off page SEO, other strategies like building social pages for your site and sharing your web content on social sites regularly also matter. When your social posts get engagements (likes, comments, share), it will help you in SEO because social engagements are referred to as social signals and work just like backlinks.
