I have been saving money using this method. You know manufacturers are never resting and they want to continually make money. So they are always producing a newer version of what they had produced months or even weeks ago.
The truth is that a newer version of model of things will push the price of the older version downward it might be both it's price or the demands. So the logic here is that if you need something and it is expensive as it is still new then you have to wait a while for a newer version to be out.
When the new model is out even with a very small features added than the previous model, the market will dump the old model and go for the new model. So the price of the old model will be cheaper since it is no longer in demand like the new version. You can then buy it. cheaper and money is save
