Selling holiday products by order only

Holiday products are usually or the occasion only like Valentine’s Day where the flowers and heart-shaped chocolates are in fashion. They sell for a good price. But after the occasion the leftover products have no more value. One style of marketing is to give a discount for those who will order in advance. Some stores take orders as early as January for Valentine’s Day products. There is no down payment required but the orders are at least indication of how much they can sell on that day (and even 2 days before the occasion). Especially for the flowers there is no wastage because you will only purchase a volume that is slightly over your orders. That’s one marketing campaign that pays.
