Syphilis: causes and prevention

What is syphilis: syphilis is a bacterial infection that is spread through sexual intercourse or close contact with the mucous membrane (skin contact). Syphilis falls under STD (sexually transmitted disease).

What is the cause of syphilis: syphilis is caused by a bacteria called Treponema palidum. Syphilis is then spread through physical contact which the sore mainly through sexual activity.
