The sick leaves and vacation leaves per year

The big corporations here especially the multinational companies are generous with the sick and vacation leaves of their employees. The standard days is 15 days per year both for sick and vacation. That means you can freely take the 15 days of vacation with pay. For the sick leave you can be paid in cash if there are unused sick leaves. Some companies also convert to cash the unused vacation leaves but many companies are now forcing their employees to use their vacation leaves otherwise it will be forfeited.

The concept of the sick leave is simple to understand. When the employee is sick then he has 15 days for that purpose. For the vacation leave it is important for the worker to have a respite in his weekly or monthly routine of home to work and work to home. Maybe to avoid mental fatigue a vacation is imperative.

Different companies have different policies around that. Some don't want their employees to cash those leaves and so they discourage it and ask their employees to take those days off to spend a good time with family. And I think it's worth it. Some companies have changed their sick leave policies in this pandemic. My husband's company is giving 15 days off if someone in family is infected and a month off if the employee is infected. This is on top of the regular sick leave that they get.
