Based on our skills, knowledge, abilities, and efficiencies, we all have the power to build a successful career. While not all of us can become a CEO, however, all of us have the capacity to become successful in what we are doing. However, not all people can be successful. If you are one of the individuals who is not successful in the chosen career, the following reasons might be the price culprits.

Cowardice: If you are easily intimidated, you will never build confidence to attempt new things or never perform better. You might be even rejected in the interviews despite having the required skills and experience.

Looking for excuses: If you are making excuses to avoid responsibilities, you might be failing in your career. Making excuses for not attempting something, or even making excuses for your mistakes, will ruin your career.

Lack of Enthusiasm: If you are not interested in things that can actually help you, you will never succeed in your life.

They'rea lot of reasons why people fail in their careers and it is always good to find the root of it. if one is to tackle the issue head-on and make a success of it the thing is that anything can go wrong with our career but when it comes to the one we use our hands to create it is always good to limit it and see how we can come out of it.

Like you have rightly stated some people are just cowards and cannot take the bull by the horns nothing good comes easy that is what we all need to do. when you are confronted with issues or problems then that trys to take you away from your goals which is your career you should stand firm to fight those issues and win at it. it is same with or applicable to when you are faced with unexpected difficulties you still need to work at it.

I feel the main reason people fail in their career is due to lack of passion for that career. Anyone who has passion for one's career would put one's all into that career and would try to avoid failing in that career.
Another reason people fail in their career is laziness. Some people are naturally very lazy. They might be passionate about the career but because they are lazy, the career might fail.
Fear of failure is another very common reason people fail in their career. Some people are already scared of failing even without trying. These might prevent them from taking steps that might contribute to the success of their career.
Greed could also be a reason people fail in their career.

Lack of clear vision or goal.
It's like taking a shot in the dark when working where you don't have a vision or goal. One of the major factors contributing to career failure is typically a lack of vision or goals. Most career aspirations fail for this primary reason. Many of our young people lack direction and clarity on their job aspirations.

Lack of persistence.
Most people abandon their jobs too soon, not because they lack talent, education, or abilities; rather, this is the main reason why they fail in their professions. It is a result of your lack of persistence, which may be a major factor in why you are struggling at work. You must be persistent in your pursuit of your objectives in order to succeed in your career.

Procrastination.
Time is lost, opportunities are missed, career goals are delayed, poor and impulsive judgments are made, your reputation is damaged, and last but not least, your career is destroyed when you procrastinate. The majority of career dreams fail because of procrastination.

Sometimes a lot of people do not know what they want and this is one of the things that makes so many people not to be serious in what they are doing.

A situation in which you are not passionate about yourself and on what you are interested to do then forget about it because you're not achieve anything. You should let the burning desire for you to achieve your life plan and goal as early as possible be your main point of interest .

Another thing is that even though you have started what you are interested to do be seriousness until you succeed. Starting it does not necessarily means that you are going to complete it .
you just have to try as much as possible to be serious and behave as if you haven't started , maybe this will give you enough passion to help you be more serious.

These things you listed here doesn't just make someone slack in career. They make someone generally slack in life. Cowardice for example can render you backwards. And I think it is mostly powered by inferiority complex. Those kind of people see everything as a risk. They don't try things outside of the ordinary. They like playing safe. No one can advance in career or anything at all with that kind of mindset.

Another thing I hate with passion is excuses. It always leads to entitlement. You feel someone somewhere is responsible for the outcome of your life. That is the major reason youths in Africa where I am from. The safest point in life is to find a reason and present it as an excuse. People that succeed don't have time for excuses. They just find a way to do things and if you are that kind of person in your workplace, you would be recognized and rewarded.

Beside these factors I want to add lack of patience, if you have an idea or something which will make you successful then work on it and wait for it, no successful person or company became successful in one night.
