Traditional advertising and credibility

Buyers and customers are always looking for a way to know and patronize only businesses that are credible. no one want to be dupe in the course of buying a product. And one great way by which a lot of people get to know about a business or product is via advertising.

but the truth is that traditional way of advertising really helps businesses to be credible. You know people are always of the view that ads on radio, print media, television etc are truthful. So it helps give credibility to a business advertised using this mefhod.

some traditional advertising outlet try to vet the advertisement to be sure they are true before allowing such ads. This makes companies that uses this traditional means of advertising more credible that'9 those using digital advertising.

with digital advertising, anyone can write any kind of ads with no restrictions. so such ads can't be be seen as credible.

Facebook's market share in 2020 was about 25.2 percent. IN 2019, Facebook spent 1,570 million USD in TV advertising, which was 460 million higher than 2018 and we can assume how much the advertising budget increased in 2021. Facebook advertising has a huge market coverage, however, the company still spends a lot of money on TV ads. TV is a traditional advertising platform, yet it still seems to be a preference for advertising or online advertising company. Traditional advertising like newspaper is considered more credible than online advertising because once published it always remain in black and white. Online ads can be removed easily and can be manipulated esily.

Yeah we are on the same page you got my point right. Because the information or details stated in traditional advertising most times remain forever like the magazines and newspapers you have mentioned, they try to publish credible stuff. This is why it looks like the information on them are more believable. with online publication it can't be same because anyone can write anything and turn it into a rumor or speculation. The credibility associated with traditional advertising is top notch this is why it is still being used still date even with the digital world we are used to now.
