When choosing a provider, pick one who:
  • Respects and listens to your family's expertise in your child's life
  • Asks about your child’s interests, needs and goals
  • Includes your child in decisions about trying out AT they may need or want
  • Inquires about the AT your child has used before and what did or didn't work
  • Willing to help you and your child explore any uncertain needs
  • Employs staff experienced in assisting children and families with AT
  • Expertise in assisting children with a similar disability
  • Appropriately trained and qualified to discuss, use, or recommend AT
