Why is healthcare insurance so expensive in the US?

High medical costs in the US are mainly due to the expensive and inflated cost of drugs. Drug prices in the US are 3-5 times that of other countries. The US also has less price regulation and transparency, and so there is little incentive to lower costs. There is also the fact that more healthcare is provided here. The US spends more on healthcare per person than any other country, be it for preventative healthcare, luxury care, or the cost of life-saving procedures. On average, a US citizen spends $9,403 on healthcare every year. This is almost twice the amount spent by citizens in other developed countries.

The second reason why healthcare insurance is so expensive in the US. First of all, the system is complex. Prices are often hidden and vary from hospital to hospital. Secondly, Medicare and Medicaid are the largest payers in healthcare. They pay lower prices because they have great bargaining power. The overall price of healthcare increases in order to cover the losses of Medicare and Medicaid. Third, the US spends more on health per person than other developed countries. Finally, drug companies are a strong lobby group and they are able to keep prices high. The high prices are often blamed on the high salaries of doctors.

I think it is because we don't have money to pay thus why we see it to be much expensive.
In my country, the government introduced what is called National Health Insurance and for the beginning everybody tried to do it but latter on she it was about to renewed others were saying they did not even go to the hospital for the whole year so they just wasted their money. They did not put themselves in the National Health Insurance again till now.

The most salient reason is that U.S. health care is based on a "for-profit insurance system," one of the only ones in the world.
