Why Many People Don't Want to Go Into Industrial Farming Despite its Lucrativeness

As the world's population grows, so does the demand for food. Industrial farming is one of the most important methods for providing that food, but the sheer scale at which industrial farms operate means that they face some unique challenges.

The first and most obvious challenge is cost. The sheer amount of land used by industrial farms makes these operations extremely expensive to run; according to a study for Agricultural and Rural Development, just maintaining an acre of farmland costs a lot. This study also found that these maintenance costs are increasing at a rate of 0.5% per year.

Labor is similarly expensive, as farmers must hire large numbers of workers in order to handle all the different aspects of their operations. On top of this, many countries have laws and regulations regarding labor practices on commercial farms, which can result in further costs if these regulations are not followed.

For the most part, industrial farms use modern technology and equipment to help them deal with these costs; however, this equipment requires constant upkeep and maintenance and must be replaced when it becomes outdated or stops working properly, resulting in additional expenses.

Industrial farmers are facing increasing pressure from environmental groups and policy makers. The pressure is being applied in the form of new rules about what types of pesticides can be used and with what frequency, as well as how much water can be diverted from rivers to irrigate crops.

Additionally, the growing popularity of organic food is creating an increasingly competitive marketplace that is making it more difficult for industrial farmers to maintain their profit margins. This is leading to fewer successful farms and a consolidation of the industry.

All together, these factors mean that operating an industrial farm is an extremely costly endeavor.

Farming business may be lucrative no doubt, but when thinking of going into a farming business, so many things are being put into consideration like the availability of land for the farm business and also the availability of capital.

All these things must be present before a successful farming activities is being carried out.

Ok let's just take it for example , a situation in which we don't have the money that is needed to start up an industrial farming system, how do you think we should do because the government here are not even ready to provide loan to help boost farming activities in the country.

Talking about availability of land , in most environment especially in the urban settlement, there is no availability of land to carry out this farming activities. Even if there is land that means a farmer needs to purchase this line which is always quite expensive.

Another thing is when starting up an industrial farming system , it does not only needs money but will need you to get all the necessary equipment such as tractors and others that can help you engage in this business. When you are starting a large-scale farming you won't be able to operate it manually with local tools.

I believe, a lot of people are engaging in farming in their own different areas they understand but all these things depend and interest .

I don't just know, but it seems so many people don't really have interest to engage in farming activities based on the reason known to them.

One of the major reason why people may not really have the interest to engage in farming activities is because of the stress .

Most people can not even imagine a situation that they have to stay throughout the whole day in a hot sun weeding or maybe planting .

And the funny thing is that , even graduate that have graduated as an agriculturist are still looking for opportunities to work in the office, lolz.

In the rural settlement , a lot of the rural dwellers are engaging in farming because that is one of the major source of income and food to them.

People who are living in the urban settlement may not have opportunity to engage in farming as you are saying . The reason is because farming business in the urban settlement is not readily available compared to the rural areas .

In the rural settlement , there is availabilities of lands and sometimes lack of modern equipment can also discourage so many people.
