Abnormalities in the nails of the hands and feet can tell a lot about your health. These are often signs of fungal nail infection and injury, but can sometimes indicate a more serious underlying condition.

If there is a difference in the color, texture, shape, thickness of your nails and you do not know the reason, you should see your doctor. (e.g. your nails have never been hurt and you have never bitten them in your mouth).

The most likely causes of nail problems are:

** Brittle or broken nails
** Pale-colored nails
** White nails
** Thick and overgrown nails
** Loose nails
** Pitted spoon-shaped nails
** Cracks or bumps on nails
** Nail-width holes
** Abnormally bent fingernails and fingernails
** White stripes on nails
** Dark stripes under fingernails
** Small red and brown stripes under the nails
** Fractured nail ss
** Infection of the nail folds (painful red and swollen skin around the nails)
