Google will choose the appropriate ads that match the content of your pages. So, every time someone clicks on the link in the ad, you will earn. Pretty simple, and that's why most people use Google Adsense when they start making money with a blog.

You can see this way of making money on websites that sell e-books or other digital download products (for example: WordPress themes, premium design assets, textures, images, etc.) This works great, because it is a more passive way of earning income from your blog where you have a link and you can start selling something.
