Business fundamentals include the basic functions of a business. These include marketing, sales, human resources, accounting and finance and operations. A business without any of these functions will not be able to survive. The ability to master these areas is essential for success in any company or industry.

Marketing is the process of creating a demand for a product or service by promoting or presenting it to potential customers. This can be done through advertising or word-of-mouth. It also includes pricing decisions and creating a distribution plan for the product or service.

Sales are the process of persuading someone to buy your product or service. This can be done through face-to-face interaction at trade shows or conventions as well as online interactions such as email marketing campaigns. Salespeople need to understand who their target customer base is before they can begin selling anything successfully.

Human resources encompasses recruiting employees and managing them once they've been hired on board; this includes things like performance evaluations, pay raises and promotions as well as benefits programs like health insurance coverage etcetera). Human resources managers also handle legal issues such as discrimination lawsuits brought against an employer by an employee who feels they have been treated unfairly in some way (for example: not getting paid overtime wages).
