Over $400 million in stock and cash has improved its standing in the bitcoin market. Closing on March 31, 2020, the deal was Binance's biggest acquisition at that point. Popular statistics portal CoinMarketCap is well-known for its vast collection of cryptocurrency data and substantial user base. Changpeng Zhao, the CEO of Binance, highlighted the importance of CoinMarketCap's user base, saying that even though it uses a different money-generating technique than Binance, it is still a very useful platform. Through the acquisition, Binance has been able to further establish its position in the market by fusing its resources and knowledge with CoinMarketCap's reputable brand.
