This may sound grim because it is about death. But we have started investing in a columbary vault. That is a small vault to deposit the ashes in the urn after cremation. When we bought a vault for the ashes of my parents, my wife decided to buy another one for her mother (who was still alive during that time). Later on we bought 2 more for a total of 4 vaults. In a few years the cost of the vault will be doubled according to the broker and I believed her. It is not a popular investment but a good one. My wife’s mother died last November so we have 2 empty vaults that we can sell.
