The human mouth is consist of two important properties which are the teeth and the tongue but for this thread we will be considering the human teeth . we all know that the teeth has a very important activity in the human body . To be able to crush , chew , grind , and easily swallow food , the human teeth have to be in existence and in position for comfortable and satisfactory eating and swallowing . A majorityof individuals today have used their teeth to carry out activities which are not healthy and suitable for the teeth . And so one may be forced to ask what are the causes of dental issues in human beings ?

A lot of people do not give attention to what they take into their mouth . To be more elaborate , eating too much sugary food like Candy , icing cakes and chocolates etc obviously affects the human teeth . And so in order to avoid dental related infections like tooth decay , gum cavity swelling and painful chewing it is better we cut down the amount of sugary foods we eat . Engaging in unwholesome activities like smoking also affect the teeth . Tooth discoloration , tooth decay , and tooth weakness are caused as a result of an individual engaging in the unwholesome activity of smoking . Some of these individuals are addicted to the habit of smoking and uses excuses like "keep oneself warm " to continue consuming cigarettes and other smoking components which is absolutely wrong and unhealthy for both our teeth and other internal organs

According to the Oral Health Foundation, approximately one in four people in the US have periodontitis, which is a serious form of gum disease. It can lead to tooth loss and jawbone damage, as well as heart attack and stroke. Periodontitis occurs if plaque builds up on teeth, creating pockets that separate your teeth from your gums.

There are many causes of periodontitis. Diabetes is a major cause, along with smoking, stress, or obesity. You're also more likely to get it if you have a family history of gum disease or use certain prescriptions like steroids or birth control pills.

In addition to periodontitis, cavities are another common dental problem. Cavities are holes in your teeth that are created when plaque is left on your teeth for too long. Eventually, it eats away at the enamel and forms a cavity. This can be caused by poor dental hygiene or eating foods with high amounts of sugar.

If you're having any tooth pain or sensitivity, make an appointment with your dentist right away so they can figure out what's causing the issue and fix it before it gets worse!
