Pneumonia is a potentially serious condition that can happen to anyone, but it's more common in people over 65. It happens when there's an infection in your lungs, which affects the way your body keeps itself clean and healthy. There are several different types of pneumonia, including community-acquired pneumonia (CAP), hospital-acquired pneumonia (HAP), and ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP).

The symptoms of CAP include:

1. Coughing up mucus or blood

2. Chest pain

3. Fever

If you have any of these symptoms, see a doctor right away! Prevention is key: if you have an underlying condition that puts you at risk for pneumonia, make sure you're taking care of it so that you don't get sick in the first place.
