Mapping a domain with Blogger

Blogger is a hosting platform from Google. You don’t have to pay to use Blogger. The blogspot blog you can build is actually hosted on Blogger. Instead of subdomain blogspot, you can actually use your own domain and host it on your blogger account. All you need is a gmail and an account on Blogger.

Free hosting

I believe mapping your custom domain with your blogger account is the best way to start a website without paying for hosting. Instead of running on a blogspot subdomain, your website will have your own domain and you will be able to run a website just by spending money on a domain. However, there are a couple of issues with this method. Even though it is your website, you do not have full control and Google can delete your website any time (but this does not happen until you violate rules), and the second issue is your website will have blogger logo as the favicon, you cannot use a custom favicon, which means people will know you have used blogger platform to host your website. Likewise, there will also be a problem with blog customization as there are limited theme options for blogger. Other than these issues, you are good to go.
