Discussion boards are platforms where people can connect, and learn and share. The perfect example of discussion board is Reddit. While you might not be able to build a community like Reddit, you can of course build a small community on the niche you care about. This does not happen overnight. However, by focusing on providing value to your members and fostering a positive culture, you can easily build a thriving community. Once you have a community, you can sell and generate revenue.
You can either use forum software (paid as well as free) to build your community, or use existing social media platforms to build your community. You can build a Facebook group or WhatsApp Group, the choice is yours. Whgatsapp and Facebook are not the only social platforems for building community, you can choose a lot of platforms including but not limited to Twitter, Discord, Reddit, etc.
Online communities will help you build a brand building, market and promote products as you can reach customers. You can build brand loyal by fostering engagement and participation.
