How Do Spammers Find Out When A New Domain Is Registered?

Have you ever register a new domain and then start getting some emails from various people or agencies; some selling website design, some hosting, or rendering digital marketing services?

Now, do you ever wonder how they do this? Like how do they know when a domain is registered?

I was once curious like you, so I decided to carry out some research on this too. Here are my findings;

There are a few ways to find newly registered domains:
- There are specialized WHOIS providers that scan new WHOIS data and publish them online

- Domain registrars may have commercial agreements with third party providers

- Hosting companies may also do the same when linking a site to a server or just adding nameservers

- DNS resolvers (usually your ISP or someone else's ISP) may also share resolving data. So if you ever "visit" a new domain you just purchased, your ISP will be aware of it instantly.

- Finally, a lot of Top Level Domain registries (the actual operator of the TLD extension) share their zone files with third party providers. These providers may also share the data with third parties.

That's a lot of potential sources for finding new registered domains.

Do you know if any other way spammers may find out when a domain is registered.
