This is one of the most common questions that a lot of new youtubers want to know.

Well, there is no fixed answer to this question. However, before you start earning you need to reach monetization threshold and for that purpose you need to reach 1k subscribers and 4k hours watch time. So, the most appropriate question that needs to be addressed is how many videos do you need to publish in order to reach 1k subscribers and 4k hours watch time?

There is no fixed answer to this question either. Some people have managed to reach monetization by publishing 30-40 videos, whereas some people had to publish 80-90 videos before they reach monetization threshold.

However, you can follow some tips to reach monetization faster:

Publish videos regularly, at least once a week

Publish not only long videos but also short videos

Create technically beautiful videos (well edited, better visual quality, sound effects, etc.)

Provide quality content.

Do SEO and digital marketing

To get approved to monetize a YouTube channel does not requires any number of video that must be present in the channel. Like it has already been stated above that a channel must have at least 1000 subscribers and 4000 hours watch time on all the videos that are on the channel.

There were time that it wasn't like that. It was easy to get approved to Google AdSense using YouTube channel. It was also an alternative way to get an approved Google AdSense account. But it was later that Google changed that and stopped some accounts that did not meet up with there current requirements.

One was thing about this there new requirement is that all these both the 1000 subscribers and the 4000 hours watch time must be attained in just 6 months.

Before youtube made a rule of 1000 subscribers and 4000 hours of watch time, all you needed was 10k views on your videos to get monetized. However, in order to stop low-quality content from getting monetized on youtube, youtube made a rule of 1000 subs and 4000 hours of watch time. If you are a good content creator, it is perfectly achievable in less than 6 months. If you are just starting out, you will have zero subscribers and just 5-10 views for many days unless you ask your friends and family to subscribe your channel and watch videos. A new content creator does not get easily pushed up in the algorithm. However, if you consistently publish videos, and follow common SEO practices, you might be able to build subscribers and views quickly. The first requirement to reach monetization threshold is to create videos that people find interesting, and the second equirement is you publish regularly.
