How much Walk you should Take Everyday to be fit

You must walk at least 30–40 minutes daily to remain fit & healthy.

  • 1 pound = 500 calories.
  • 1 Mile = 2000 steps which will burn 100 calories.
  • To lose 1 pound in a week you need to burn 500 calories per day.
Assuming that you walk at a moderate pace of 3.5 miles per hour, you can cover 3.5 miles by walking for 60 minutes each day. This is a good amount that you can do at one time or break up into two 30 minute sessions. One hour of walking is the equivalent of about 15 minutes of running or about 15 minutes of a high impact exercise.
It is very important to lose to avoid obesity and unnecessarily weight that would make you lose shape

Very true, but what of someone at the risk of being underweight but wants to remain fit, for how long should he/she walk. A friend of mine who was very slim 2 years ago use to walk to keep fit for like 60 minutes. She did this for 3 months until she fell terribly ill and the doctors advised her to quit her walking exercise for like 2 years toll she gets her weight back by eating healthy. Now she has gained some pounds, but I wonder if she's ready to resume her walking exercises. I just hope she doesn't become underweight when she starts.
