The 10,000 Bored Ape Yacht Clu-inspired Pepe NFTs that make up Rare Apepe YC were founded and made by digital artist @Pepe designer of the Rare Lab. 1999 Rare Apepe YCs were initially released on March 5th, 2022 at a paid mint price of 0.05 ETH with the goal of reorienting the NFT world around the arts. The Rare Apepes were reintroduced in ID 2000 as a free mint. The Rare Apepes were also able to leave their 1:1 ID match with their BAYC counterparts after the relaunch. In the future, Rare Apepe YC plans to release 10 "artifacts" in a limited quantity, as well as a serum that could be injected into each Apepe and cause them to develop odd features.
