A solid business idea requires alot of creativity, planning and soul searching. You have to focus on your skills, experience and passion. You don't need to be an expert right away, but leveraging skills and experience you've gained can increase your chances of success. Meaning you should go with what you already know or don't mind learning fast. Then ask yourself whether you're passionate about running or doing whatever business you want to do.
Another thing is you should evaluate business and your lifestyle if it fits, why? If balancing work and family life is so important to you then avoid business's that require much of your time working a week. If you also hate being stuck in the office, then look for business that can be operated remotely or even at home.
After doing all that you have to test your idea and see if it will work. Then write a business plan that details your goals and how you plan to achieve them. A business plan forces you to examine the validity of your business idea, giving you a better shot at success.
If you have any comments please do so and if you need any business advice also comment so that I can know what to write next.
