How to have an effective strike at the workplace

Sometimes it is good for workers to show their Bosses their issues at work by going on a strike to drive home their point of going on strike.

But certain things must be done to make the strike as fruitful as anticipated. The following tips need to be adopted to have an effective strike

Start by Setting up a strike fund. You never know how long the strike.will be on for. This is to help members financially.

Before the strike you need to raise awareness let others be aware of the needs and why everyone should be involved.

Organize your team and develop clear messaging. Let the message you are passing across be very clear on what the need of the strike in the workplace

Research past strikes how it went and then,use a protected channel where everyone can communicate. This is to create oneness of the need of the strike so that everyone would be requesting for the same thing

The original poster mentioned a strike fund. That is very important cos some employers would immediately adopt the no-work no pay rule and if the negotiations are not successful, the strike might linger for some time and economic hardship set in among the staff members. When it gets to that point, the strike would surely be undermined his there would be sellouts.

Also, be sure that your demands are objective. Don't go and be making overtly selfish demands on your employees. When it gets to the courtroom of public opinion and you can't gather support from the public, your strike is bound to fail.

Some employers are stubborn o. They would maneuver their way to put the staff in the negative eyes of public opinion. That's how striking lecturers lost out on their strike in my country. The government played to the sentiments of public opinion and made them look like bad people. At that point, they were under pressure to end the strike.
