It does not matter what kind of business you have (big or small, online or offline, selling digital products or physical products, selling products or services), you need to run advertising campaigns to generate sales. If you are doing digital marketing, there are numerous platforms and the leaders in the digital marketing space are Facebook and Google.

Facebook ads are a powerful source of traffic for your website. They enable you to target users by their demographics and interests, so you can get the right people visiting your site. Getting started is easy: just create an ad account and set up your first campaign.

Here's how:

1. Create an Ad Account

The first step is to log into Facebook and go to "Ad Center." Then, click on "Create an Ad Account." Next, select the type of account you want (for most people, this will be "Standard" or "Local Business"). Lastly, input your credit card information.

2. Set Up a Campaign

Navigate to the "Create a Campaign" page and click on the image for your campaign objective (examples: clicks to website, engagement, video views). Once you've chosen an objective, enter a name for your campaign and choose a bid strategy (examples: lowest cost, target cost, optimized CPM). Then click "Next."

3. Choose Your Audience

Once this has been done, choose whether you want to use automatic targeting through Facebook or manually enter targeting preferences yourself. If you're using automatic targeting, browse the categories and subcategories on the left side of the screen and click.

I've used Facebook ads for a while and it's not difficult to create one. However, it takes skills and maybe luck to create one that will be successful and bring returns on the ad money spent.

Once you have created a page, which is what you use for Facebook ads, you can make one or multiple posts, preferably with pictures or videos since these encourage your audience to click on the ad. It can help if you already have followers and you can see the engagement on the post organically before using it as an advert.

If you don't, I find it helpful to boost it with a small budget while tweaking things such as the audience, the ad text or graphics to see which combination gets the best response.

Then set you budget and run the ad. It will also help if you have a way of reconnecting with those who interacted with your ad for further targeting purposes.

Before you launch your ad campaign on Facebook or any other platform, including Google, you need to remember a couple of things.
Find your audience: You cannot attract 15-year-old kids and 50-year-old men with the same ad even when the product might be used by kids as well as old men. If you are targeting kids, your ad should be appealing to the kids, if you are targeting adults your ads should look appropriate to the adults. How you design ads have a lot of things to say about the success of your ad campaign. Let's say you are selling a product for a 10-year-old kid. However, a 10 years old kid is not allowed to register on Facebook. How do you attract your customers to buy your product? You will have to target your ad to capture the attention of people who have kids. If your product is for 10 years old kids, you need to attract parents of 10 years old, if your product is for 3 years old toddlers, you will have to target your ad to the parents who have 3 yers, old toddlers. You can generate sales only when your ad reaches the right age group.
